On Saturday August 31st, Lamb's Pond Phragmites Community Group will be hosting a Phragmites Removal Work Bee at 6422 New Dublin Rd. Conservation Authority staff will be explaining the challenges of Canada's #1 Invasive species. Emma Phillips, local Biologist will explain recent work to create a community group to deal with the spreading invasive species in Lamb's Pond. THis will be a "hands-on" party. The technique for removal involve using raspberry cane cutters to cut stalks below the surface of the water. It's one stalk at a time and the task can seem daunting. But when people come together for a common purpose, getting down and dirty can be a lot of fun.
